There is no need to introduce City Hyderabad to anyone. It
is already famous for Charminar, Golkunda Fort and, of course, for Hyderabad
Biriyani. I came to visit these and not a General
Hospital in Hyderabad. Instead, the trip turned out to be not as I had
planned it.
This is around one-and-a-half-year-old incident when one of
my close friend was staying in Hyderabad and he was pestering me to come there.
At last, I decided to catch a bus from majestic and go to Hyderabad. Bangalore
to Hyderabad is nearly 600 KM and it takes one night to reach there. After a
sleepless night in the bus at last I reached in Secunderabad where my friend
was waiting to pick me up.
I am travel freak. After a long sleep pressurizing them to take me on a Hyderabad tour. But before going for tour we need to finish the lunch and for lunch Hyderabad biriyani was one and the only option for me. So we went to paradise restaurant in Secunderabad. If you don’t know about Hyderabad Biriyani then try only in Paradise Food Court or Bawarchi. Good news for Bangaloreans, Paradise has opened their branch in Bangalore.
The Biriyani is really awesome. It has thin, long well
cooked basmati rice, some rice grains are colored some are white. All grains
are not sticking with each other. Chicken pieces are well cooked and tastiest.
My friends, they ordered mutton biriyani. I took one piece of mutton from their
dish and it just melted in my mouth. It was awesome in one word. This is most
excellent biriyani “Hyderabad” I ever had; anyhow Aminia’s biriyani (Kolkata)
is my all time favorite.
After a most heaviest meal, no one able to walk, so we
decided to go to Hussain sagar and spend some time there. Hussain Sagar is
spread around 6 Square KM area, which was built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in
1562 in the regime of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. There is one Buddha statue which
was erected in 1992 in the middle of the lake. We spent almost 2 hours in
Sanjeevaiah Park. The park was nicely maintained in that time. After spending a
nice time and obviously digesting heavy meal, we headed towards Charminar. It
was built in 1591 AD in the time of Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah (1580–1612), the
fifth sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Other than the Charminar mosque and
Charminar, the nearby market will entice you as you can get many things in very
cheap rate, it may be perfume to cloths.
After roaming in different malls, it was little late in
night. We all were coming back on bikes. We had 2 bikes and total 4 people. We
all were enjoying the night breeze. One place, can’t remember the place name,
we saw few people gathering and saw one lorry standing nearby. My friends, they
got scared. They felt they might be snatchers or goons, so they accelerated
speed. When we were passing that place, suddenly, we saw our both bike skidding
away. I was thrown out of the bike and my friends were just going away with the
bike and hit the guard wall. An oil spill all over due to a tanker breakdown
had made the road slippery. Out of 4, one of my friends and me were ok. We had
little scratches, but 2 of our friends were lying down and no one was able to
walk, seems they were injured severely. All people standing there helped us a
lot.
After we were stabilized, first think came in my mind that I
need to take them to hospital. I pulled my mobile out; saw it was working fine
and then searched for the nearby hospitals. I saw that the nearest
hospital is 2 KM away named Osmania General Hospital. We stopped a passing city
taxi and took them to the hospital. Osmania General Hospital is a Govt hospital
and very old too. The duty doctor came and checked them, took their X-Ray.
There had small fractures and were admitted to the hospital. After preliminary
treatment, they were shifted to the general ward. In the meantime, my friend’s
parents got the news and came down that night only. Thankfully after knowing
the whole story, they did not scold us. Next day, we were released, all sorted
out. Thank God that things were manageable. Happened.
