Internet Revolution 2G through 4G

I am from a very small hamlet of this country though currently far away from that and dwelling in IT capital of India.

In 1995, I first heard about the internet. First I came to know about the Emailing which attracted me too much. This was very interesting for me in that time to send a Letter/Mail and reaching to the destination within a second. It made me perplexed.

At that time, for me internet means Email, only Email.

That time internet was pathetic, like current Doordarshan (Though that time Doordarshan was having many nice programs like Surbhi, Ramayana, Mahabharat,Chandrakanta). It had to connect through dial up network(only BSNL was there in my town), this was making horrible some sounds. After it is connected, another pain used to start, that is openning the site and then entering into the mail box.

That time, Yahoomail, Hotmail were too famous. There was no trace of GMail.

That was nice time spend with Internet without Speed and lots of patience.

Time passed away, technology improved. Dial-up modified and Broadband took that place, Mailbox opening little faster. But downloading anything, even small file was taking longer time.

One day, I heard that Mobile phone is launched in Kolkata. A small phone which we can out into the pocket and talk even message from any where. When I first saw one person talking through mobile phone in Park Street Kolkata thrilled me.

All these days gone. Now a 1GB movie can be downloaded in computer within 4 min. Broadband becomes that much faster.

Mobile telephony is not way behind from Broadband internet. Initially started with 2G and reached in much faster version 3G service long back.

3G service made a revolution in the Internet. 3G enabled mobile price below 4K is affordable to most of the people of our country. Now, from a chaiwala to Businessman are using 3G phone with 3G connection. Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Ticket booking all become easy and so so simple. Farmers are getting weather report and other agricultural knowledge through 3G internet.
