Another Study on Allergy and Asthma

This incident happened in first week of November 2013.
My wife went to her parent house for 20 days. After she came back she was fine first 4-5 days. After 5th or 6th day she started coughing vigorously. Whole day she was fine but coughing was starting around 4 AM in morning and lasting till 6 AM.




First few days she was taking water vapor and used to do water gurgling. But there was no sign of improvement. So we rushed to doctor. The doctor was bit old, had MBBS degree.
After checking her up he told this problem is very common in Bangalore and many people have been suffering with this problem. He told this was happening due to asthma. Many people have this problem because of weather and pollination. 

He prescribed 
1. COF Q (Combination of Paracetamol 450mg+Bromhexine
8 mg+ Guaiphenesin 100 mg+ Chlorpheniramine Maleate 2 mg+ 
Pheniramine Maleate 25 mg)

2. Deriphyllin (Combination of Theophylline and Etophylline)

3. Lecope M /Lazine M(Levocetirizine 5Mg+ Montelukast 10 mg)

Doctor told to have all medicine for next 7 days.

She started having it and there was no sign of coughing.
She had all tablets next 7 days.

We thoughts she got cure and were happy.

But on 8th day morning she started coughing and time was between 
4 to 5 AM. The cough was coming put was not thick but it was light and white in color.

Again we rushed to doctor. He told same thing and continue the same medicine for next 7 days.
She started taking and problem disappeared.

After 7 days, she stopped medicine and again same coughing problem happened.

We decided after that to take a consultation from another doctor and decided to meet a Physician (MD Degree).

I knew one good physician and he was very renowned physician.
We took and appointment and went to meet him.

After checking, that physician told to change the lifestyle.
He told to have fresh food, not to have any freeze food.
He gave a full lecture on lifestyle change, at last he prescribed

Mucinex (Guaifenesin 600 mg+ Dextromethorphan HBr 30 mg) 2 times in a day.

and some vitamins.

After she started taking this problem did not come down.

She was coughing in the same time, between 4-5 AM, but
Intensity was less.
Same was continued in next 7 days. Coughing was not reduced.

One morning she was coughing too much. After seeing this we decided to stop this medicine as it was not showing any result.

Again we met that MBBS doctor who we met first time. After checking he told we need to continue this medicines:
1. Deriphyllin (Combination of Theophylline and Etophylline)

2. Lecope M /Lazine M(Levocetirizine 5Mg+ Montelukast 10 mg)

She started taking this tabs and there was no sign of coughing.

After 2 days, she told she was exhausted taking all tabs. But I
persuade. She agreed not to stop medicine.

Next day morning, she told you know she did not take Deriphyllin
only took Levocetirizine 5Mg+ Montelukast 10 mg though she didn't
feel any problem and she urged she'll not continue Deriphyllin but 
continue Lecope M (Levocetirizine 5Mg+ Montelukast 10 mg).

She took only Lecope M and didn't have any problem. She slept nicely--
Levocetrizine seditive effect :-)

When she found this that after taking Allergic tab (H1 receptor antagonists) that strike in my mind that all were happening due to allergy not because of Asthma.

From that time I started searching what was reason behind the allergy?

I questioned her if she was allergic to dust or any other thing or not?

She told "I am not allergic to any dust, but I don't able to use all cosmetics because all cosmetics don't suit me".

Still I was confused and not able to find the allergic material.

In the mean time we cleaned all the clothes and bed cover and told her to stop the medicine for one day and let see if she cough or not.

OMG, she coughed next morning which gave me conclusion that it was not due to bed/cloth dust.

In the mean time she was taking with her mom and her mom asked a nice question which helped to crack the Allergy puzzle.
She asked "Try to remember what are the products you have started using after coming to Bangalore".

That time I also thought Yes..she is correct. As I know after coming in Bangalore she started using some herbal shampoo and some other herbal products, so why not stop that products and check.

I told her to stop all products she had been using after coming here, also told her to wash her head with shampoo and no need to take allergic tablet today.

She did it. The anxious night started I was not able to sleep properly in the night.
Every time thinking that she was going to cough now.

At 5 AM she coughed but intensity was very less, in fact very very less.

I felt such a relief, at last.

In time I told it was happening due to herbal oils and other products, so it is better to through the product out and also told her there might be some oils left so better to wash head with shampoo one more time.

After that day she was not having coughing problem. Thank to God and too my in-law.

Conclusion: Before using any product irrespective of herbal or any branded product apply some amount in your skin and check, if you get rashes then don't use that product, if not then you can use it.
