Think positive….. Be positive

It is very easy to say to think positive and to be positive. But it always can’t be possible to stay positive as negative thought always comes before positive one. I feel  you need to think about the negative too because if you can anticipate all negative things can happen in future then you can think positively to overcome that.

If you see a glass of water in front of then what should come in your mind first. Many people including me think that the glass is half empty. But the optimist people will say that the glass is half filled. Why can’t we say in much optimist approach that “The glass half filled, but I need to fill the rest of the half too”. This is called optimism. If you see work is half done so that I can relax now then at the end you might come in the time pressure and not able to complete your work with cent percent quality.

There is one story I think everyone knows that the race between the tortoise and the rabbit. All these stories give us a big lesson that is the optimistic approach of the tortoise. The tortoise might think at the point of time when he accepted the race that yes, I might lose as he is much faster than me but there is no indignity for me in losing. Practically, I will lose the title but will not lose hope. Also, I will not stop chasing him until touching the finishing line. That’s called optimism. You know that your competitor is much more superior but why to lose hope until the competition is over.

In Bhagavad Gita there is one sloka “karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana” that means don’t think about the result at the beginning of your work, but think about the work. Your duty is to give your best to accomplish the work. This is best sloka of Bhagavad Gita and very useful in our professional and personal life. There is so many works which looks very difficult at the beginning. You might think at that time if I am not able to finish this work properly then what my boss will tell.. blah… blah.

That’s the reason Gita told you not to think about the result but to accomplish the work. There are ample of time to think about what you have done, what you are not done and How better it would have done. Our life is learning process. Your today’s learning will enrich you in future.

I want to tell an incident from my life. My wife was learning car driving in a motor training school. She learnt the driving a bit and was driving it very nicely in the school’s car. One day, much before completion of her training program, she told today I would drive our car. She took out the car from parking place then took a turn to the road. Suddenly what happened that the car ran faster and hit a car which was parking on the roadside. The things happen so suddenly that there was no scope to stop it. Fortunately, there was no injury to her and mine too. The car’s door was half bent and side mirror was broken. She was shocked and collapsed. It was our new car. It was sad to see the new car in a distorted position.

I thought in much positive way, I told her it was good that we were not at all hurt even a scratch. If it was happened on highway then it would have been much more severe. Later I advised her, it was better to complete the driving training then for some days drive our car under the supervision of a trainer.

At lat I want to tell you same thing “the Glass is not half empty, but it is half full and my job is to fill the rest half”.
